Both of the Bakersfield College softball games on Saturday lasted just five innings. It wasn’t because of weather or any external factor. It was because the Renegades were up by so much that the mercy rule came into effect.

BC (3-1) downed LA Mission, 11-2, before beating Glendale, 10-0, at the Glendale Tournament. The Renegades have won their last three games by a combined score of 30-2.

BC pitcher Kylee Fahy struck out 10 in five innings against LA Mission. BC was up 9-0 after the first three innings and both of LA Mission’s runs came in the top of the fifth. LA Mission had seven errors in the game.

Renegades pitcher Mckenna Valencia struck out seven in her five innings against Glendale. Infielder Aryka Chavez drove in a game-high five runs and BC managed 12 hits to Glendale’s three.
