Bakersfield College’s men’s and women’s tennis teams both entered Tuesday with 2-0 records, but finished the day at 2-1. The men lost at Riverside City College, 6-3, and the women lost at RCC, 6-3, too.

For the men, top singles player Kaleb Johnson suffered his first game losses of the season, but battled through a tight match to win. He topped Riverside’s Kayne Trustfull in two sets, 7-5 and 7-6. BC split the singles matches with Riverside but lost all the doubles matches.

For the women, No. 2 singles player Paige Darstein suffered a “possible season-ending knee injury,” according to head coach Nick Loudermilk. She was the team’s top singles player all of last season. The Renegades won three of the six singles matches and lost all of the doubles matches.
