Bakersfield High came out on top at the fifth annual Rumble for the Rig wrestling tournament, held at BHS on Saturday.

The tournament is known as one of the toughest one-day wrestling tournaments in California.

The Drillers won with 131 points, followed by Oakdale (117) and Selma (113).

Nineteen teams total took the mats. Other local programs involved included Frontier, Bakersfield, Highland, North, Independence and Centennial.

Individual champions from local programs were Cade Lucio (Bakersfield High, 120-pound weight class); Andrew Bloemhof (BHS, 126); Izzak Olejnik (BHS, 145); Albert Urias (Ridgeview, 160); and Kaleb Abernathy (Centennial, 285).
