The Bakersfield Christian girls basketball team saw its season come to a close Wednesday night at Hanford-Sierra Pacific.

The Eagles, seeded No. 4 in the Central Section Division IV girls basketball bracket, lost to the No. 1-seeded Golden Bears 78-55.

Sierra Pacific will now face No. 2 San Joaquin Memorial in Saturday’s championship game, which is scheduled for 10 a.m. at Selland Arena. The Golden Bears have won 17 straight games.

The Eagles reached the semifinals by beating Highland (57-33) and McFarland (58-35) in the opening rounds of the playoffs.

Bakersfield Christian now stands at 21-9 on the season while Sierra Pacific moved to 27-4.
