Greg Chase (25) and Ryan Hamilton have their eyes on a loose puck during Saturday night's game against Tucson. The Condors, who have had trouble scoring this season, lost 4-0.

Where: Citizens Bank Arena

Radio: 970 AM

Condors record: 1-2

Reign record: 0-3

Series: First meeting

Notes: After a team-building excursion on Monday, the Condors spent the last three days trying to correct a myriad of problems. “Lots of video, lots of work on special teams, lots of teaching,” summed up coach Gerry Fleming. The power play is 0-13, the penalty kill is among the worst in the league in the league at 73.3 percent and neither Nick Ellis or Eddie Pasquale has been good in net with a combined .833 save percentage, easily the worst in the AHL. The Condors are yielding an average of 4.0 goals per game while scoring just two. “It’s like a dogs’ breakfast: not very appealing,” Fleming said of the overall play early in the season. Thus, three days of hard work on the ice and extensive video sessions and, with center Brad Malone called up to Edmonton, extensive line juggling … Ellis, who last played in Bakersfield's season opener, will get the start in net ... The Reign are playing their home opener after going 0-3 on the road. Like the Condors, they are struggling on the power play, having gone 0-13.
