Mulder: former Shafter resident

Stephen Mulder was born in Bakersfield in 1954 and grew up on a farm outside of Shafter.

He attended Bakersfield Academy. After completing medical school at Loma Linda University, he returned for an internship in family practice at Kern Medical Center.

His mother, Florence, and father, Zeke, live in Shafter and are active in their community.

Dr. Mulder is a senior member of the anesthesiology staff at Twin Cities Hospital in Templeton, where he has served as the chief of the medical staff.

He is a past president of the San Luis Obispo County Medical Society. He has worked in health education for the past 10 years, with his health business called New Choices. The business has as its mission keeping people out of the hospital and off many pharmaceutical drugs.
