U.S. out of Israel

It should be obvious that Israel is not a democracy. It is a modern Jewish theocracy! Pure and simple, its leaders have pursued a policy of subtle deceit over that nation's entire history. Up to the time of Bibi Netanyahu, Prime Minister Menahem Begin was considered the most unscrupulous when dealing with the Palestinians. Presidents Truman, Eisenhower and Carter had reservations about Israel's ambitious designs for anything Palestinian. Since President Carter, the U.S. has tried numerous times to bring a peaceful solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict without success.

So what does the U.S. do now? Clearly we have tried to do our level best, if anything we have exceeded ourselves, trying to bring peace to the Middle East. Nothing works! And nothing will work! A recent Israeli writer in The L.A. Times wrote that Israel has ignored or frustrated every attempt to bring peace to PalestinE. If peace with the Palestinians is impossible, perhaps a Palestine without Palestinians is their only final solution?

In the meantime, it is clear that U.S. foreign policy is simply not effective in coping with Netanyahu's ambitions. The U.S. should withdraw its peace makers, in fact all of its Army units, and free ourselves from any responsibilities we have in Israel. Israel in particular, and Palestine, are simply too complex, too bewildering for our State Department to understand and deal with. The U.S. doesn't need a 51st state and its species of crafty politicians.
