Schoolyard bully

I'm sure I wasn't the only one who had their blood boil after reading the March 3 article, "PG&E agrees local rates are unfair."

PG&E is like the schoolyard bully saying, "Yeah, we're screwing you! What are you going to do about it?!" Well, I have a few ideas about what we can do about it.

We could start by taking Joan Wright's advice and fire PG&E. I would rather see my tax monies spent on creating a municipal Kern County utility district than see the good citizens of Kern pump a billion dollars into PG&E. I happen to know of a wind farm in the Tehachapis we could see about investing some of our billion dollars in.

Since PG&E, obviously, has Sacramento in its pocket (I consider myself an "informed voter"), I will be voting "no" on Proposition 16. I will vote "yes" on any measure on the ballot that calls for the firing of PG&E and the establishment of our own Kern County Municipal Utilities District.

We need to get the word out to other communities that experience summers like ours and that are being taken by PG&E as well. Every vote counts, Kern citizens. Let's stick it to PG&E -- vote no on Prop. 16.
