Dangers of the Pill

Readers who may have been skeptical after reading the recent letter concerning the dangers of the birth control pill should find a copy of Dr. Ellen Grant's "Sexual Chemistry." Not only does this U.K. scientist tell of the Pill's danger to women, but also to men and the environment.

Grant points out that the use of hormones, such as forcing fertility, replacing them in menopausal women and preventing spontaneous abortion can cause cancer in children. Remember that DES use resulted in deformities and a high risk of developing cancer.

Because so many women take estrogen, more of this powerful chemical is released into the water supply. Deformed, hermaphrodite trout have been found near water outlets. Grant cites other abnormalities in wildlife.

Prescribed hormones have caused an increase in abnormalities in the children of mothers who have been on such a regimen. The increase in dyslexia, anorexia and other problems can be traced to hormone therapies.
