Euthanization and breeders

I picked up Thursday's Californian to find the front-page headline "Set to die: Kern County's euthanization rate rising."

Was I surprised? No. Was I frustrated and discouraged? Yes! I turned the newspaper over to the Classified section to find the usual pages full of ads of puppies for sale. Gee, do you think there might be a connection?

In addition to putting an end to backyard breeding, it's time for those in the community who continue to complain, yet do nothing to help, to get involved and volunteer and/or donate. Complaining is futile and a complete waste of energy and time that could be better served in a positive way.
