Cyclists, stop and think

I have been reading a lot lately of the gripes of bicyclists on the use of paths. All these paths in town on city streets were paid for by auto taxes, nothing by cyclists. The path along the river was paid for by taxes of everybody. That includes the people who are walking, so cyclists don't own it.

You watch bicyclists on the streets. They pay no attention to traffic signals or stop signs, ride on the wrong side of the street, pull out in front of you, ride two or three abreast, etc. A recent letter writer wrote in saying she hit a rough spot in the path, so she got off her bike and walked in the traffic lane and laughed at the cars she held up.

I know the good cyclists will complain about this, but stop and think. When was the last time you did something like what I've stated? I have seen even the ones in training run stop lights if it is clear to them.
