Albright disappoints

This is in response to the Nov. 8 article in Parade magazine by Madeleine Albright, "We must keep freedom alive."

How disappointing to read Albright's article on the virtues of freedom and democracy and hear nothing mentioned of the heroic efforts and sacrifices of our men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan, where millions have been loosed from tyrannical and brutal dictatorial regimes.

Regardless of one's view point on these wars, one has only to review the brutal oppression of the previous regimes in these countries to acquire a sense of pride in what our brave soldiers have made possible for these people (recognizing the difficulties the young governments are still having).

I regretfully have to conclude that omissions such as this stem from a political bias that would not even dare give credit to a previous administration that supported these efforts.
