Costa typical politician

Street walkers "bring home the bacon" too, but I expect a higher standard of morality from our legislators, even after years of evidence to the contrary. ("Costa brings home the bacon with funds for medical school, Nov. 10.) Rep. Costa's job is to represent the best interests of the country and his constituents, not to see how much cash for pet valley projects he can squeeze out of the administration over what's essentially a "glamour vote" on health care.

Although I totally oppose the administration's efforts to nationalize, and then socialize yet another facet of our once free nation, I would have respected Costa's vote more if it'd been a matter of conscience, rather than a cynical grab for more federal dollars.

Some folks aren't thrilled with Rep. Kevin McCarthy, but for my part, I appreciate his integrity, his willingness to engage his constituents and his higher view on the issues before him.
