Beating death horrific

I voice my opinion with great sadness for a grieving wife and mother of four children whose husband was savagely murdered by a mob of thugs on Feb. 7. ("Man dies after group attacks him with bat," Feb. 8.)

I listened in horror to news accounts of how this man's wife watched as her beloved husband was being beaten to death by criminals with a mob mentality. Patrick Matsuda was beaten and left to die by those who think they have a God given right to take a man from his family, friends and loved ones simply because he asked his neighbor at 2:30 a.m. to hold the noise down.

He was then attacked by a group, armed with baseball bats and pipes. What weapon did he possess -- his voice? Who gave them the right to kill an innocent man? Maybe they were raised by those who put no value on a human life and justify the brutal killing of another as acceptable and right.

We live in a society where the value of a life means nothing. Very few follow a moral compass; what was once wrong is now right. I pray that those involved in this despicable act of murder will be brought to justice at all costs and that they will not rest nor sleep until their guilty conscience guides them to do the right thing.

One thing is certain -- justice will be served, for that which a man sows he will also reap. My prayers are with a grieving widow and her four fatherless children and for those who committed this act.
