Loss to community

This is in regards to the Oct. 20 article concerning John Lencioni's passing, "Construction magnate put his heart into every job."

I reflected on the the way he led his life after coming to America. He came to America with no money or knowing the native language, English. What did he do? He worked hard and learned the language! No ballots in his native language, Italian, and no handouts. This is a lesson we should all learn.

I love to travel and don't expect the country where I am visiting to know my language.

What a loss for his family, but he leaves behind a great legacy. Come to America, learn the language and work hard and you can be a great success. His family and Bakersfield has lost a prominent citizen and a wonderful man.
