Wait until 2010

There has been a lot of talk regarding the restriction of water to farmers in the Central Valley because of the environmental concerns for the delta smelt and supposed far-reaching effects on other marine species, including the killer whale. It sounds like the radical left has spared no efforts, including fabrication of facts, to continue its efforts to degrade and inhibit the ability of our strong agricultural community to continue to do their stellar task of providing top quality food and fiber for our nation and the world.

When elected government officials accede to the wishes of environmental groups bent on the destruction of our free market system, they are forgetting their purpose for being legislators -- to serve the needs and concerns of their constituents, instead of cultivating special interest groups for votes to stay in office. Those elected officials who have turned a deaf ear to our farmers' water needs will learn their lesson when the 2010 elections send them home. The agricultural voices of our valley are being heard and the voters will have the final say.
