The presidential election is upon us and I am still listening carefully to the words of the candidates. The Saddleback conversation helped me begin to make a decision. The forum at Columbia University contributed more information. Now I want to see the candidates talk together directly to audiences in town-hall meetings. I want to see some debates with unpredjudiced and relevant questions from the moderators.

It has been difficult to wade through the media garbage to get to the real and important issues.
As a moderate conservative, I have found myself struggling to feel that one candidate or the other will lead this nation down the right path. I like Barack Obama. He seems like a concerned young man and a gifted orator.
On the other hand, I think that John McCain emerges as a strong, mature leader. He knows the issues and he gets to the point confidently, skillfully and with an economy of words.
John McCain is not out to make a career and a name for himself. He has proven his experience and his worth already. By comparison, Barack Obama seems like a cerebral dreamer, who has not yet proven his worth in the service of our country. He already looks fatigued from the long campaign. I cannot imagine him as Commander-in-Chief. John McCain, many years his senior, looks fit, vigorous and energized.
I am ready to vote for John McCain, a true American hero and one whose long experience has been sharpened by steel.
