Everyone, including me, is very upset about gas prices going up, it seems, every day.

The younger generation probably does not remember how it was one time in the 1970s -- the speed limit was reduced to 55 mph in order to conserve on gas.
It certainly would help right now. Going down to the L.A. area, I have kept my cruise control on 60 mph and it has helped a lot. As a matter of fact, I passed several cars going slower than 60, so I'm not the only one trying to save a few dollars on gas.
I'm surprised I have not heard or read anything about lowering the speed limit.
