As the parent of two children with special needs, I would like to commend Tim Terrio of Terrio Therapy-Fitness for creating the League of Dreams sports team.

It is indeed a dream come true for families with special-needs children to have a place where they can actually join a real sports team, wear a uniform and get the sparkle in their eyes because they are part of a sports team.
I asked Tim Terrio why he did this -- he's a busy man with many demanding responsibilities. His answer was that every child should have the chance to play.
All you have to do is look at the kids' faces and you know that Tim Terrio has created something very special.
If you are ever having a bad day, I invite you to join us every Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m., at the Fruitvale-Norris Park. I guarantee you, it will put a smile on your face. Just ask Mayor Harvey Hall -- he threw out the opening pitch!
