I agree with the letter-writer ("We have absolute right to protect ourselves," Feb. 19) who wonders about our decaying society.

Where is the outrage over the violent video games where day-after-day people young and not-so-young "play" at killing other people and become de-sensitized and, yes, brainwashed? Where is the outrage over the filth in music and movies, many of which actually receive high accolades and awards? The sacredness of life is completely ignored.

As for gun control, I personally see no reason for an individual to own weapons meant for the military. My knowledge of guns is very limited, but I do think we are on a slippery slope when we start talking about eliminating amendments to our Constitution.

We must pray for our country and the world.
