Our president recently tweeted a challenge to the nation's major TV networks, excluding Fox, to a contest: the fakest one would receive a fake news trophy. I never thought I’d see the day that the person who holds the most prestigious office in the United States would resort to such pettiness. What must the world think when they read such nonsense?
Please, Mr. President, if you must tweet, concentrate on weighty matters. Too many important issues out there to be acting the petulant schoolboy. Remember Thomas Jefferson’s words: “When the speech condemns a free press, you are hearing the words of a tyrant.”
