There is a difference in the recent revelations of past sexual misconduct by disgraced ex-Judge Roy Moore and Sen. Al Franken. Moore was a powerful official in the Alabama judicial system who preyed on children; Franken was a third-rate comedian who occasionally played tasteless and sexist jokes on grown women.
Moore denies his past pedophilic predation and attacks his accusers; Franken regrets his past boorish and harassing behavior and apologizes to his victims. Moore enthusiastically claims to be qualified to be elected a U.S. Senator, while Franken wants a public hearing to determine his qualifications to remain a Senator. Moore is defiant, where Franken is ashamed. There is no doubt in my mind as to who is currently behaving honorably and who is currently behaving deplorably.
