Concerning the Community Voices submission by Tracy Correa Lopez ("Women's March Kern County a liberating experience for thousands," Jan. 30):

First, I want to congratulate everyone involved with the Women's March.

I have to admit, however, that I was taken aback by the comment "and it was peaceful." Was Ms. Lopez fearing that a large group of conservatives were going to counter-protest? It's my experience that the Democratic Party has done so much harm to women's rights in America — unless she was referring to reproductive rights.

Conservatives strive for success and rights for all, in my opinion.

It's disheartening to read that she feels living in a conservative community means she as a woman is lacking rights to succeed, and to have all the rights that her perceived evil conservative male neighbors enjoy.
