The Bakersfield Police Department arrested three drivers on suspicion of driving under the influence and detained 30 drivers for further examination of sobriety during a DUI patrol on Saturday, March 10.

Between 6 to 8 p.m. BPD officers screened about 145 drivers. Of the three that were arrested, two were found to have been previously convicted of a DUI, the BPD news release said.

The public is encouraged to help keep roadways safe and call 911 to report a suspected impaired driver if they see one.

Funding for the enforcement effort is from a grant by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
