Stinson's Stationers prides itself on being a model of efficiency. If the longtime Bakersfield office supply company delivers its wares with half the competence it exhibited at Tuesday morning's nonprofit donation breakfast, the Pentagon may want to take notes.

Stinson's, celebrating its 70th birthday, moved the representatives of 100 local nonprofits in and out of its east Bakersfield warehouse in under an hour, feeding them, encouraging them and sending them off with $1,000 apiece.

One hundred of them.

It was the company's way of celebrating the conclusion of its seventh decade of business: a breakfast at the Stinson's Distribution Facility on Sonora Street. Virtually all of the 100 awardees of Stinson's 2017 Community Giving Grants attended the 7 a.m. breakfast.
