WASCO -- Austin Tijerina had seven carries for 160 yards and two touchdowns, including a 70-yarder on Wasco's first play from scrimmage, to help the Tigers (8-0, 3-0 South Sequoia League) defeat Arvin 47-0.
Mike Martinez had eight carries for 156 yards and two touchdowns and Darius Moore had seven carries for 105 yards for the Tigers, who remained undefeated heading into next week's SSL showdown at home with Tehachapi.
Arvin dropped to 1-2 in the SSL and 1-7 overall.
Tehachapi 35, Bakersfield Chr. 7
TEHACHAPI -- Marcus Curiel and Wyatt Vance churned out a combined 228 yards on the ground in the first half as the Warriors (7-1, 3-0 South Sequoia League) cruised to an SSL victory.
Curiel finished with 176 yards on a season-high 24 carries with four touchdowns while Vance had 92 rushing yards.
Tehachapi amassed 413 yards of rushing offense and only attempted two passes.
The Eagles had a fourth-quarter score from freshman Matt Smith, who finished with 94 yards on 18 carries.
Bakersfield Christian (4-3,1-2 SSL) has success with its aerial attack, led by quarterback Josh Thompson completing 17 of 36 passes for 188 yards.
Daniel Cherry, Immanuel Wofford, Josh Western and John Schoneveld each accounted for at least 40 receiving yards for the Eagles.

South 20, North 17
South High (3-5) took advantage of a late turnover to gain control of The Civil War Sword and spoil homecoming for North (2-5) in the non-league game.
With less than two minutes remaining, Dale Daniel recovered a fumble at the North 18-yard line. The Rebels ran the ball to the 1 for a first down.
North's defense held for three plays but South quarterback William Lujan scored from a yard out with just over a minute remaining. North turned the ball over on downs to secure South's victory.
Running back Brodie Smith was the workhorse for the Stars, carrying the ball 35 times for 293 times and two touchdowns.

Highland 21, East 0
Highland posted a shutout at home behind a strong performance by Jacquan Ford.
Ford had two touchdown runs, including a 56-yarder in the second half, to put the game away.
The game was scoreless at halftime but the Scots made some adjustments.
"Our o-line picked it up a lot in the second half," Ford said.
The Scots were playing without regular starting quarterback Zach Pasqua, but Ryan O'Leary completed 12 of 24 passes for 132 yards, including a 22-yard touchown pass in the fourth quarter.
"It's just a knee sprain, and I'll be back at 100 percent next week," Pasqua said.
The game was briefly marred by an on-field fight in the fourth quarter, and East wide reciever Tevin Beasley was ejected on the Blades' second offensive play in the game after an incident close to the Highland sideline.

Ridgeview 41, West 14
Kamari Moya-Cotton rushed for 159 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Wolf Pack (7-0, 3-0 South Yosemite League).
Brandon Tripp rushed for 93 yards and Brock Martin added a 71-yard punt return for a touchdown in the first quarter for Ridgeview.
Jose Garcia Zavala and Patrick Marzette scored touchdowns for West (1-5, 0-3).
Golden Valley 22, Mira Monte 12
Kwame Johnson scored two touchdowns for the Bulldogs (3-4, 2-0 SYL), who remained tied with Ridgeview atop the South Yosemite League.
Mojave 20, Desert Christian 15
MOJAVE -- Matt Carter scored the game-winning touchdown with 3:20 left and Mike Phillips made a crucial defensive play with 33 seconds remaining to help the Mustangs (8-0, 4-0 Desert Mountain League) remain unbeaten.
After Carter's late TD, Desert Christian drove to the Mojave 22, but on a fourth-and-2, Phillips batted down a pass.
The Mustangs took a 14-0 halftime lead after Kevin Nelems' 5-yard TD run in the first quarter and Kelvin Nelems' 15 TD pass from Carter in the second quarter. But Desert Christian (6-2, 2-2) pulled ahead 15-14 with a touchdown in the third quarter and another early in the fourth.
Following the Knights' go-ahead score, Mojave mounted a 65-yard scoring drive, capped by Carter's 1-yard TD.
NW Christian 65, Alpaugh 24
At Calvary Bible Church, Michael Pople had 20 carries for 290 yards and six touchdowns as the Guardians (1-2, 3-4 Central Valley Small Schools) won the eight-man game.
Christian Logan completed 5 of 8 passes for 77 yards and two TDs to Michael Zobel.
Defensive end Josh Alderson had eight tackles, including three for losses for the Guardians.
