Drillers Hunt for playoff position

A healthy Walter Hunt lifted Bakersfield to its fourth consecutive victory as the junior running back scored four touchdowns in a 56-7 win over Golden Valley on Friday at Griffith Field.
"People don't talk about Walter very much; he is as good of running back as it gets," Bakersfield coach Paul Golla said. "He has been battling injuries for a couple of weeks and now we have him back. We are really lucky to have him; he is an exciting football player."
Hunt rushed for total of 59 yards on four carries and had two receptions for 46 yards.
It took just six plays for Bakersfield (6-2, 3-1 SEYL) to jump out to a 21-0 lead by the end of the first quarter.
Drillers quarterback Brian Burrell opened the scoring on Bakersfield's second play, taking the ball up the middle for a 54-yard touchdown run.
Hunt scored his second touchdown when he busted out of the backfield and in from 9 yards out. The Drillers then added two more on a 20-yard touchdown reception from Brian Burrell, and a 26-yard run, giving BHS a commanding 49-7 lead at halftime.
Golden Valley (2-6, 1-4 SEYL) avoided the shutout when quarterback Darrick Martin found Aramando Munguia for a 62-yard touchdown reception in the closing seconds of the first half.
"Our kids are playing great, they are really focusing on the now," Golla said. "We are playing for the playoffs every game."
Bakersfield out gained Golden Valley 364 to 156 yards. Driller quarterback Brian Burrell finished 3-for-4 for 98 yards passing and 66 rushing yards on three carries.
