FRESNO Two big plays doomed Garces in the annual "Holy Bowl" at San Joaquin Memorial on Saturday night.

After a scoreless first half, Memorial's Jose Jolly returned the second half kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown and put San Joaquin ahead for good as the Panthers rolled to a 20-0 win.

Garces (1-2) took the next drive down to the San Joaquin Memorial 1-yard line but fumbled.

Two plays later, quarterback Bryant Cummings connected with John Savage on a 98 -ard touchdown pass to make it a 14-0 game. Chris Brown tacked on a 12 yard run in the fourth quarter to finish off the Rams.

Stockdale 47, Clovis 22

CLOVIS For the second straight week, Stockdale found itself digging out of a early deficit.

The Mustangs spotted Clovis High a 14-point lead early in the first quarter, but unlike last week's loss to Bakersfield High, Stockdale put together a dominating final three quarters in a 47-22 non-league victory Friday.

Safety Kyle Desimone and linebacker Isiah Turner returned interceptions for touchdowns in the second quarter, and the Mustangs defense forced four turnovers in the game.

Clovis marched down the field for the game's first touchdown, and then Stockdale fumbled on its first play after the kickoff.

"It was 'bang, bang'; they were up by 14 (points)," Stockdale coach Mike Snow said. "Once we settled down and played better defense we took control of the game."

Stockdale (2-1) controlled the clock with its rushing attack as Malik Henderson rushed for 123 yards and Spencer Prince added 91 yards.

Stockdale quarterback Efren Venegas threw two touchdowns passes, including a 25-yard scoring strike to Desimone in the second quarter.

Turner also scored on a 7-yard run in the fourth quarter.
