Bakersfield Dragons.jpg The Bakersfield Dragons captured the Bantam “A” Division Championship at the Thanksgiving Extravaganza in El Segundo on Nov. 29 . The Dragons are 6-3 on the season. The team includes: Landon Stanton, Eric McDonald, Austin Jackson, Levi Bolls, Josh Rosenberg, Nick McDonald, Jared Sanders, Tyler Pazzaro, Brian Martinez, Anthony Starbuck, Trent Allison, Connor Kingsbury, Andrew Alforque, Shane Johnson, Hayen Bolls, Sammy Glaser and Jacob Graham. They are coached by Jamie Cooke and assisted by Kaleb Kiser, Joe Bolls and Brent Kingsbury. In the championship, Alforque scored the first goal off an assist by Martinez. Jackson and Nick McDonald also scored a goal, and Eric McDonald and Stanton played well between the pipes.
Bakersfield Brigade B94.JPG The Bakersfield Brigade ’94 Boys soccer team won the Nomads Thanksgiving Tournament this weekend. They finished 5-0 and didn’t allow a goal.
Dylan Patton and coach.JPG Senior swimmer Dylan Patton of Tehachapi High and the Bakersfield Aquatics Club has earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-America honors. The scholastic All-America team is comprised of high school student-athletes who have a grade point average of 3.50 or higher (in academic subjects), and have achieved a specific time standard (Junior National Bonus Time) in an individual event during the qualifying period. They must have completed 10th, 11th, or 12th grade and be a USA Swimming member athlete. Patton managed a 4.4 GPA during his junior year, all academic classes.
Norris Middle School.JPG The Norris Middle School volleyball team went 34-0, winning the countywide SMAF tournament and state tournament. Norris had a combined GPA above 3.7. The team features: Courtney Yanez, Abby Campbell, Sydney Graves, Cassidy George, Madison Ogden, Grace Hulbert, Tori Smith. The Bakersfield Bullets 13U.JPG The Bakersfield Bullets 13U club baseball team placed first in the Turkey Classic baseball tournament held in Visalia in November. The Bullets, who have an overall record of 8-3, have reached the finals of all three tournaments they have entered since forming earlier this year. the Krusher.JPG The Kern Krushers captured the 10u championship of the Bakersfield Inferno Winter Slam with a 10-4 victory over the Oxnard Vipers in Sunday’s title game at the Northwest Baseball Complex. The Krushers earned the top seed with an 11-1 win over the GBA Giants and a 16-7 victory over the 9u Bakersfield Heat in Saturday's pool play, then defeated the Visalia Thunder 13-6 in the semifinals Sunday morning. The Krushers feature: Matt Anderson, Matt Borda, Luke Fringer, Noah Hemphill, Tristan Jones, Easton McMurray, Sean Mullen, Luke Pendergrass, Mason Solf, Ronnie Stapp, Jack Tobias and Ethan Van Horn. They are coached by Brock McMurray, Sean Mullen, Jason Solf and Troy Fringer.

Soccer

The Central California Blues (CCB) 11U boys finished league cup this past weekend at the San Bernardino Soccer Complex in round "sweet 16" to be defeated by Legends FC, which is one of the two highest ranked teams in the Coast Soccer League for this age group. Central California Blues played a total of six games for the Coast Soccer League Cup, going 5-0-1 and scoring 19 goals, and allowing only 2 goals. Central California Blues players: Top (l-r) Connor Schamblin, Jorge Orellana, Nick Galland, Luke Tovar, Dean Moreno, Jaret Fidler, Jose Orellana, and coach Ray Sanders - Bottom (l-r) Andrew Miller, Carson Olivas, Hugo Magana, Grant Fidler, Roberto Ramirez, Adrian Martinez, and David Alatorre.

Tennis

Tanner Harris of Bakersfield won the RJ's Tennis Grand Prix in the boys 14 year old division at Bakersfield Racquet Club on Dec 5-6.
