New local baseball instructional facility plans 2 clinics

Extra Innings, Bakersfield's newest baseball instructional facility, will hold two clinics in mid-November.
A parents-only clinic will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, where they will be introduced to basic hitting fundamentals, common errors and how to recognize and correct flaws.
The second session, set for 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, is for parents accompanied by their child, with the son or daughter learning hitting techniques.
Video will be taken of each hitter before and after the instruction. The video will then be transferred over to a DVD with voice-over assessment.
The clinic is open to boys and girls ages 7-13 with a maximum of 10 children being accepted for registration.
The instructors will be Larry Barnes, Ty Soto and Ron Valenti. Call 589-8900 to register or sign up at the facility at 4820 Rosedale Lane, located just east of Allen Road off Hageman.
