Winner: Ogden earns All-American status

PORTERVILLE -- Centennial senior Bryce Ogden easily won the Central Section diving championship Thursday at Granite Hills High School with a score of 475.15, an automatic All-American qualifying total.
His closest competitor was Jacob Ruiz of Clovis East, who scored 437.10.
Kern County was well-represented in the diving finals, with Stockdale's Hayden DaMant taking third (347.15) and Liberty's Jake Tittl fourth (345.25).
On the girls side, Frontier's Kristyn Kirschenman was third with a score of 340.25, and Liberty's Jordan Reed, second in the section last year, was fifth with a 331.05.
Megan O'Meara of Clovis East won a close meet with a score of 361.55.
The section swimming and diving championships continue today at Granite Hills with swimming preliminaries.
