Just one night after Bakersfield opened the 2010-11 season with a thrilling three-point home win over Tulsa, the Jam suffered its first loss of the year, falling to the 66ers 108-93 at the Jam Center on Saturday.

Once again, turnovers (19) plagued the Jam, as well as cool shooting (32-of 80 from the field for 40 percent).

"I looked down at some point in the first quarter and we were shooting just 18 percent," Jam coach Will Voigt said. "We stopped talking to each other at some point and quit playing as a team and it was a trickle-down effect."

"It's very early in the season, and I think our guys can learn from games like this."

Trailing by 15 points to start the fourth, the Jam went on a 9-5 run, but the Sixers applied the pressure, forcing turnovers and scoring consistently.

Tweety Carter's layup with just over a minute to play gave the Sixers a 17-point lead, their largest of the contest.

Tulsa outpaced the Jam to start the game and had extended its lead 20-8 before Bakersfield stormed back with an 8-0 run to end the first trailing 23-20.

The Jam pulled to within a point three times in the second, but the Sixers opened up a nine-point lead on Zabian Dowdell's 3-pointer, as Tulsa headed into halftime with a 49-41 lead.

Bakersfield narrowed the deficit to three to start the third quarter on Marques Blakely's tip in, but the Sixers mounted a 14-point lead on a pair of Carter free throws.

Bakersfield's Marqus Blakely finished with a double-double, with 10 rebounds and 11 points.

For a second consecutive night, the Jam's guard duo of Jeremy Wise and Trey Johnson made their presence known. Wise finished with 22 points and Johnson 21.

Bakersfield outrebounded Tulsa 48 to 31. Brandon Wallace led the team with 14.

Carter finished with 18 points, and Dowdell had a 21 points for Tulsa.
