SANTA BARBARA -- Katie O'Leary's run at the SoCal Regional women's tennis championships came to an end Friday. O'Leary, Bakersfield College's No. 1 singles player, lost to No. 8 Brittnie Furuvald of Orange Coast 6-2, 7-6 in the Round of 16.

O'Leary, along with doubles partner Jennifer Kelly, were defeated by Courtney Petero and Kim Stern of Long Beach City 6-2, 6-2.
The Renegades (14-3) completed one of their most successful seasons in school history, finishing fourth among 40 Southern California teams. Coach Gene Lundquist will return his top five players next season.
'Runners fall to Utah Valley in softball
OREM, Utah -- Utah Valley University hit six home runs in a softball doubleheader sweep against Cal State Bakersfield Friday.
Utah Valley beat the Roadrunners 6-4 in the opener and 6-1 in the second game.
All 12 runs by the Wolverines came on home runs. The losses dropped CSUB to 22-23 this season. Utah Valley is 14-32.
The Roadrunners conclude their softball season today with another doubleheader at Utah Valley.
