The Bakersfield Jam will open its NBA Development League season on Friday, Nov. 27, when it travels to play the Albuquerque (N.M.) Thunderbirds.

Bakersfield's first home game will be two days later, on Sunday, Nov. 29, against the Los Angeles D-Fenders, a 4 p.m. game at the Jam Events Center on Norris Road.

The 50-game schedule features 24 games in Bakersfield. Two contests will be played in Rabobank Arena -- Saturday, Feb. 6, vs. the Tulsa (Okla.) 66ers and Saturday, March 13, vs. the Springfield (Mass.) Armor.

The other 22 games in Bakersfield will be played in the Jam Events Center. Another "home" game will be played in Boise, Idaho, as part of the Jan. 4-7 D-League Showcase.

The D-League will feature East and West conferences this season and has two first-year teams: Springfield and the Maine Red Claws.

The Jam went 26-24 last season, the first time in its three-year history the team qualified for the playoffs and finished above .500.

It has been a topsy-turvy off-season for the Jam. In April, the team announced it was ceasing operations after losses of more than $1 million in each of its last two seasons.

Then on June 19, owner Stan Ellis announced the team would return for another season, with most games in the team's own facility instead of the downtown Rabobank Arena.
