Local report: Webb's 27 points lift Taft in tourney

SALINAS -- Summer Webb scored 27 points to lead the Taft College women's basketball team to a 70-46 victory over Cabrillo (Aptos) College at the Hartnell College Tournament.
Demmi Nunn added 11 points and six assists, and Zanoria Echols finished with 12 points for the Cougars (6-4). Taft will face DeAnza (Cupertino) College in the semifinals at 6 p.m. today.
Jam remains unbeaten
RENO -- Osiris Eldridge scored 23 points and Mustapha Farrakhan added 22 to lead the Bakersfield Jam to a 110-106 victory over the Reno Bighorns at the Reno Events Center.
The Jam (3-0) trailed 85-82 at the end of three quarters, and 94-84 with 8:22 to play before mounting a comeback.
Bakersfield followed with a 13-3 run, capped by four straight points by Eldridge that tied the game at 97 with 3:53 to play.
Juan Pattillo scored 18 points for the Jam, including the go-ahead basket with 50 seconds to play for a 108-106 lead.
