Thunderbirds hold off Jam, 99-94

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Bakersfield Jam rallied from a 23-point first-half deficit before falling Sunday to the Albuquerque Thunderbirds 99-94 at Tingley Coliseum.
The Jam (20-16) trailed 47-24 midway through the second quarter, but chipped away at the lead and eventually moved in front 79-78 on a dunk by Nick Lewis with 1:22 left in the third quarter.
Bakersfield stayed close, but the Thunderbirds (18-12) finished the game with a 7-2 run.
Jeff Trapagnier finished with a team-high 22 points, including four 3-pointers, Lewis added 21 points and nine rebounds, and Derrick Byars scored 20 for the Jam.
