Midfielder Shaxton selected to all-conference first team

Cal State Bakersfield senior midfielder Matt Shaxton has been named to the All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation first-team soccer squad.
Two other Roadrunners (8-7-2) were also honored. Alberto Navarro was a second-team pick and Eric Shannon was an honorable mention choice.
Shaxton, from Bridgewater, England, had two goals and four assists for CSUB. He was the heart of the Roadrunners' central midfield.
Navarro helped the CSUB defense limit opponents to an average of 1.65 goals per game. Navarro, a junior from Delano, added four goals. Shannon, a freshman goalkeeper from Valencia, had 62 saves, five shutouts and a 1.50 goals-against average. He ranked second in saves and shutouts and third in shutouts per game (.29).
