EDINBURG, Texas -- A four-minute stretch in the second half sparked by turnovers and poor shooting saw a seven-point CSU Bakersfield lead turn into a double-digit deficit and the Roadrunners couldn't recover in a 73-67 men's basketball loss Wednesday night at Texas Pan-American.

CSUB (12-13) led 47-40 with 10:46 remaining, but then went four minutes without a field goal and had four turnovers in the process.

The Broncs (9-17) capitalized with a 19-2 run over an eight-minute stretch. When that ended, UTPA led 59-49 with 2:11 left.

Aaron Urbanus scored 21 points and Brandon Provost added 17 for Texas Pan Am. Urbanus and Provost each hit four 3-pointers. Provost scored 11 of UTPA's 13 points, including 3-pointers on three straight possessions, during the run.

Stephon Carter led the Roadrunners with 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting off the bench, and Zach Lamb added 16 points. Rashad Savage pulled down 15 rebounds.

Carter moved into ninth place on CSUB's all-time scoring list with 1,069 points.

CSUB has lost 18 straight outside of California dating to Feb. 15, 2010. The Roadrunners will try to end that streak Sunday at Nebraska-Omaha.
