Dennis averaged 11.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.6 steals per game as a sophomore last season at Panola College, a Texas community college. He is from Scarborough, Ontario, located near Toronto.

Dennis, who is 6 feet tall and 175 pounds, made 40 percent of his 3-point attempts and was an 83-percent free throw shooter (63-of-76).

Dennis helped Panola to an 18-14 season as a sophomore, which qualified the team for the National Junior College Athletic Association regional tournament.

In high school, he was an All-Canada selection. He is the only player in the last 36 years to win consecutive MVP awards at Toronto's prestigious Silver Fox Tournament.

CSUB coach Keith Brown said Dennis' arrival just about completes the Roadrunner squad for 2008-09, although he added that one or two walk-on players could be added for the upcoming season.

Dennis is the third player to sign a letter of intent with CSUB for next season. The others are 6-8 center Jose "Chepe" Lara from College of the Sequoias, who signed during the November early signing period, and 6-6 swingman James Albright from Fremont High School near Oakland, who signed in April.

'RUNNER STAFFER TO GET FOOTBALL HONOR FROM FRESNO CITY COLLEGE

Bob Shook, who is the NCAA compliance coordinator at Cal State Bakersfield, will be the Cornerstone inductee into the Fresno City College Football Wall of Fame on Aug. 17.

Shook is a former Fresno City College education adviser and assistant football coach. The Cornerstone inductee is reserved for former coaches and community members who have contributed greatly to the enhancement of Fresno City College football.

Shook is one of six inductees and the only nonplayer slated for induction. The newest group will bring the Wall of Fame number to 125.
