Alaska's Frank Doyle earned ECHL goaltender of the month for January and he started off February by frustrating the Condors.
Doyle stopped 27 shots as the Condors fell 4-1 in suffering their third straight loss, the first such losing streak this season.
The Aces scored their first goal on a power play 7:06 into the game, then scored three more in the second period to put the game out of reach. Bakersfield stopped Doyle's shutout bid 9:39 into the third when defenseman Eric Regan scored a short-handed goal.
Goaltender Timo Pielmeier made his ninth straight start for the Condors and stopped 24 shots.
The teams square off again on Friday and Saturday nights.
Condors coach Marty Raymond flew back to Bakersfield after the game as his wife is scheduled to deliver the couple's second child on Friday. Former Condor player Quinn Fair will coach the team in Raymond's absence.
