The Bakersfield Condors bolstered their offense by signing left wing Alexandre Monahan and center Christer Andersson.

Monahan, 21, a 6-foot-1, 176-pounder, had 80 goals and 79 assists in a four-year career in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He had his best season for Victoriaville in 2007-08, when he had 38 goals and 63 points, including 17 power play goals. Last season he tied for second on his team in goals (25), assists (29) and points (54).

"Alexandre is a young fellow with NHL speed," Condors coach Marty Raymond said in a statement. "He's a player with a good frame who likes to get his nose dirty."

Mohahan made his professional debut March 29, playing just one game for the Johnstown Chiefs of the ECHL.

Andersson, 24, played 158 games in the Swedish Alisvenskan League. He ranked third on the team in assists (14) and first in penalty minutes (110) in 42 games with Mariestad last season.

"Christer is a gritty player who does a good job on faceoffs," Raymond said in a statement. "He is both offensive and defensive minded."

Despite playing two seasons in Sweden, Andersson will carry a rookie status in the ECHL because games in the Alisvenskan League do not count toward guidelines for veteran/rookie status.
