Condors' flurry in second period buries Wranglers

The Condors scored three goals in a span of less than 5 minutes in the second period on Thursday night in Las Vegas and went on to a 4-1 victory over the Wranglers.
The victory snapped a two-game losing streak and propelled the Condors (5-4-0) into first place in a very tight ECHL Pacific Division.
The game was tied 1-1 when the Condors, who outshot Las Vegas 17-5 in the first period, went on a scoring flurry.
Dan Sexton deflected a Shaun Fisher slap shot at 5:22; Andrew Ianiero banged home a goal off a rebound at 6:49 and defenseman John de Gray jumped up into the play and scored off a rebound for a power-play goal at 9:28.
The Condors took a 1-0 lead 15:24 into the first period when MacGregor Sharp scored off a rebound. The Wranglers (4-4-0) tied the game 1:16 later on a goal by Matt Watkins.
Timo Pielmeier stopped 20 shots in earning the win.
The Condors, who had 40 shots, were 1-for-6 on the power play and killed off all five Las Vegas power plays.
The teams meet again tonight at 7 at The Orleans Arena then travel to Bakersfield on Saturday to complete a set of three games in three nights.
