Condors finish first road trip with wild win

VICTORIA, British Columbia Logan MacMillan scored a shorthanded-breakaway goal inthe third period and center MacGregor Sharp added two goals as Bakersfield won a wild 4-3 match against Victoria on Saturday at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
Justin Pogge made 33 of 36 saves to improve to 2-1 on the season.
After a scoreless first period, Dan Sexton struck first with a breakaway goal at 5:12. With 8:36 remaining, Sharp scored his first goal of the season with a backhand in close to give the Condors a 2-0 lead.
The Salmon Kings cut the lead to 2-1 when Mike Hamilton scored on the power play with 4:29 left in the middle frame.
But the Condors struck back just 27 seconds later tas Sharp converted a 2-on-1 set up by Stu Bickel and Sexton.
The third period was tight, with the Salmon Kings pressing to score the equalizer after earning three power plays in the first 13 minutes. After MacMillan's goal, Victoria's Oliver Latendresse struck on the same power play to cut the lead to 4-3. Victoria continued to put on the pressure, but Pogge stood his ground to preserve the win.
The Condors (3-2-0-0, 6 points) return to action Wednesday against Ontario at Rabobank Arena.
