Condors extend offers to 5 players

Five players from the Condors 2008-09 roster -- defenders Donny Grover and Jay Langager, right winger Liam Huculak, goalie Jerad Kaufmann and forward Matt Pope -- have received qualifying offers from the team, in accordance with the ECHL's July 1 deadline, the team announced.

Grover came to the Condors from Cincinnati in a mid-season trade and finished as the team's leading scorer from the blueline, totaling 5 goals, 26 assists for 31 points in 68 games.

Huculak was the club's penalty minute leader, with 168, while adding 5 goals and 6 assists. Kaufmann was a rookie signing late in the season after completing his college career at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He had one start, allowing two goals on 34 shots in a shootout loss to Ontario.

Langager had 2 goals and 12 assists in 31 games after signing with the team in January and served as team captain for the remainder of the season.

Pope finished the year in the American Hockey League after setting Condors rookie records for assists and points, totaling 30 goals, 33 assists in 54 games.
