Marissa Alvidrez, a sophomore at UC Riverside, has been named to the All-West Region Softball Second Team.

Alvidrez, a Liberty High graduate, led the Big West Conference in batting average (.424) and slugging percentage (.722), she ranked second in on-base percentage (.517) and slugging plus on-base (1.239) and ranked third with a UC Riverside-record 11 home runs.
Alvidrez was also named to the All-Big West Conference first team as a utility player and to the second team as a designated player.
The Highlanders went 19-37 this season (5-16 Big West).
Alvidrez has 17 career homers for Riverside, which ranks second on the school's all-time list.
