Saturday, he had a personal-best four hits in a 10-9 UCI loss in 10 innings. He helped the Anteaters erase an 8-0 deficit.

Sunday, Bell got his 35th hit in 33 games.

Bell leads UCI with a .372 average and was batting .419 in Big West games through Sunday.

JAM COACHES RETURN

The Bakersfield Jam announced that head coach Scott Roth and assistant coach Sean Rooks will return as the NBA Development League team's coaches next season.

The Jam also announced that Dean Martin, an assistant coach with the Dakota Wizards last season, will join the coaching staff.

Roth took over as the Jam coach last Jan. 11 following the resignation of Jim Harrick.

Rooks had a 12-year NBA playing career with seven teams and was the Jam's television color commentator in Bakersfield's inaugural season.

Martin has more than 15 years of coaching experience and has extensive scouting experience.

The Jam also announced that last year's team trainer, Rachel Schlachet, has been named team trainer for the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks.

BC'S LASSITER DIV. I-BOUND

Reggie Lassiter, a sophomore point guard who helped Bakersfield College reach the California community college men's basketball Final Four in March, has signed a letter of intent with the University of Louisiana at Monroe, a Division I school that competes in the Sun Belt Conference.

Lassiter was an All-Western State Conference selection last season.

"This is a great success story for Reggie because he was recruited by no one out of high school and was able to work and achieve a Division I scholarship after attending BC," said Renegades' coach Rich Hughes.
