Centennial grad Langenfeld receives Pac-10 softball honor

Centennial High graduate Megan Langenfeld was named Pac-10 Conference Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday after playing a big part in the circle in two of UCLA's three road softball victories last weekend in the Bay Area.

Former Centennial standout Megan Langenfeld, who now plays at UCLA, was named the Pac-10's Pitcher of the Week.

The Pitcher of the Week award is the second of Langenfeld's career. She also earned the honor last year as a freshman. .

Langenfeld did not allow an earned run in 9 1/3 innings last weekend, striking out nine and recording a win and a save. Friday gainst No. 21 Cal, Langenfeld pitched a complete-game four-hitter to improve to 7-0 this season. She allowed two unearned runs and two walks while striking out six, retiring 10 in a row at one point.
