Bakersfield native and Ridgeview High graduate Justin Miller made his Blaze debut on Sunday against the Visalia Rawhide, giving up two runs on four hits and three walks with one strikeout.

Miller, selected in the 16th round of the 2008 draft out of Fresno State, played this season with the Arizona Rookie League Rangers and Spokane Indians before returning to his hometown club Sunday to replace Beau Jones, who was promoted to the Double-A Frisco (Texas) RoughRiders.

In other news, Blaze outfielder Joey Butler was voted the California League Player of the Week for the week of July 27-Aug. 2. In the last seven games, Butler compiled a .653 average on 17 hits, 11 runs, 7 RBIs, 4 doubles and 2 stolen bases.

The Blaze returns home Friday to host the Lancaster JetHawks in a three-game series at Sam Lynn Ball Park.

Friday's promotion will be Friday Family Fun Pack, which includes 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 sodas, 4 chips, a game program, and an autographed ball for $36.

On Saturday the Blaze will hold Crazy Baseball Facial Hair Night. Any fan who comes to the game with crazy facial hair will be able to purchase their ticket for $1.
