Jorge Jimenez and Stephen Hunt homered during a five-run third inning and five Bakersfield Blaze pitchers combined on a four-hitter in a 6-4 victory over the Lake Elsinore Storm on Friday night at Sam Lynn Ballpark.

Nathan Freiman hit a three-run homer for the Storm in the first inning before Bakersfield answered in the third. Lake Elsinore managed just two singles the rest of the way.

Jimenez hit a two-run shot and Hunt added a go-ahead three-run blast for a 5-3 lead.

Mace Thurman (5-3) relieved Tim Crabbe in the fourth and pitched 12/3 innings for the win. Derik Lutz pitched a scoreless sixth and Chris Manno struck out five in two innings.

Doug Salinas capped off the ninth for his 14th save.

The teams continue a four-game series at 7:45 p.m. today.
