Los Angeles Dodgers' opening day starter Hiroki Kuroda is tentatively scheduled to pitch tonight at Sam Lynn Ball Park against the Bakersfield Blaze.

Kuroda will make his first of two minor-league rehab starts for the Inland Empire 66ers. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.

Kuroda, who was placed on the 15-day DL on April 7, began his ascent back to the Majors by pitching in a three-inning simulated game at Dodger Stadium on Monday. He threw 45 pitches and reported no pain in the strained left oblique muscle that caused his stint on the disabled list.

"I think he'll need two (rehab starts) at a minimum," said manager Joe Torre after his simulated game.
